Sucks.

Miami going was ok. They were always sort of the odd-man out.

Virginia Tech I can understand. Location, location, location. It
made sense.

But Boston College really was pivotal in the Big East as a conference
member. Very unfortunate.

Lots of people have an opinion on this. I'm one and even though I'm a
Big Ten fan I think this sucks out the wazoo. Swofford and the ACC are
criminals. Fortunately there will be a way for at least the Big Ten to
pay the ACC back: during the basketball challenge the advantage will go
over to the Big Ten with the ACC having Miami and Virginia Tech.

Syracuse is staying aloof from the latest lawsuits. Whassup?

What I've been wondering is, when this thing with Miami and the ACC started,
why didn't anyone in the NCAA's head office say, "Just a minute here, is
this really a good thing for college athletics?" Or is the NCAA truly
powerless in situations like this?

Careful... although VT basketball hasn't been good in recent years, the
school has a strong basketball tradition.

I think it's a shame...I was there when WV beat Flutie (again) and
enjoyed the rivalry. Unfortunately, out of the blue, they decide
they'd be better off traveling 400+ miles to every conference game.

Football, being the prime motivator, may make sense for VT and Miami,
but I don't see the same for BC. Nobody shows up now for Wake-FSU, do
you think they're going to show for Wake-BC in Winston-Salem? Or
Atlanta? Or Durham? or Clemson? Unless the other team has a sellout
regardless, I can't see many people going out of their way to see BC.
Nor can do I remember anyone (since Flutie) that BC has produced that
would be a magnet to attract a sellout.

I guess the sentiment is that they can take their "wicked good"
Temple-beating football program to the ACC.
