In watching the Wisc. game, it was interesting that there was recently
a couple of "letters to the editor" in the Morgantown paper regarding
fans...the first was from a Wisconsin family telling of their trip to
Morgantown and how rudely they were received by the
students...profanity, etc.
Then, there was another by a Mountaineer fan who decided to respond
with his tale of his family's trip last year to Madison and how rudely
his family was treated by students and fans...profanity, etc. He
wasn't defending the actions, but was basically stating that people in
glass houses shouldn't throw stones and it's a shame that this type of
activity is so common around college football.
As for Wisc itself, congrats on the win (speaking of rude welcomes,
I've spent quite a few days in Columbus and they set a high standard)!
I would love to be in Tressel's office to hear Reynolds explain
himself. Especially with the Clarrett mess escalating, Tressel has to
suspend this kid for the season for the assault on Sorgi or resign the
label that he is going to "clean things up." Yes, I'm sure there are
other things that go on in a major college football pile, but in this
day and age, players have to know they're on camera and things like
that shouldn't be done. Then again, maybe he could only count the
first ten cameras he saw...and we know how even the academically
acclaimed Big Ten has trouble counting beyond.
Glad to see the Mountaineers win.
Strange to see Nevada beat Washington at Washington.
Now that OSU has dropped, I can't wait to hear that Virginia Tech is
in the national championship race again! Actually, on the Sports
Reporters, they've alread started. After all, VT has beaten UCF,
James Madison, UConn, Rutgers, Texas A&M and Syracuse. Texas A&M has
impressive winso over Arkansas State, Utah and Baylor. Syracuse has
wins over UNC, Toledo and UCF. Yes, VT is definitely in the hunt.
It should be fun at the Wednesday night showdown! Obviously, I would
like to see WV win, but if the team that almost beat Miami shows up,
it should be a good test for VT.
